About one out of three people suffer from ‪bruxism‬ (teeth grinding). Most of the times, bruxism is attributed to stress and anxiety but sometimes it can also be caused by a change in the way the upper and the lower teeth fit together or by a missing or crooked tooth. When a person has bruxism, the enamel is worn off leading to exposure of the dentin and the chewing surfaces look flat. Excessive bruxism might lead to severe jaw pain, tense muscle, headaches and sensitivity of the teeth.
