Always choose a mouthwash that has fluoride and is alcohol free. Fluoride is necessary to prevent cavities from forming and to protect and give strength to your teeth. The alcohol in many common mouthwashes (such as Listerine) can actually cause dehydration of your mouth leading to bad breath. Alcohol containing mouthwashes also cause an irritating, burning sensation when you use them, so switch to an alcohol free mouthwash (like Colgate Plax) today.
