Endodontic Root Canal therapy involves the complete removal of everything that lies inside the root canal of a tooth. The hollow area is cleaned, shaped and decontaminated. Miniscule files and irrigation solutions are used to obtain an aseptic environment. The final step is an inert filling using a material such as gutta percha to fill up the hollow space along with a eugenol-based cement.
