Whitening is a commonly done cosmetic procedure, and the degree of whitening you can expect is dependent on the amount of discoloration. Whitening, or bleaching works by removing stains that already exist in your teeth and restores them to their original colour. Whitening does NOT work by removing enamel, which is a commonly held belief. These stains can occur because of various reasons such as drinking tea, coffee, wine, smoking and medications to name a few. There are many ways to brighten a smile, whitening is one, veneering or “capping” is another. Discuss with our dentists about the treatment best suited for you.
